Hari Raya di Korea?

Assalamualaikum
So like always, it's been a month since I last update my blog.
I've been busy with studies, exam and moving.
I just recently move to a new one-room near the school, so I can now at least walk to school after the school holiday ends.
Hello diet! (I guess?)

Anyway,
I couldn't go back for Hari Raya cause the ticket is so expensive and I actually have a paper on that day.
And I couldn't go celebrate hari raya together with other Malaysians at the embassy as well because I had my speaking exam on that day.

So on the first day of raya, I cried when I reached at school, cried again when I called my family and cried again.
The next day on the other hand is the end of semester celebration or something like that and after that celebration, I went straight to Infinite One Great Step World Tour in Seoul.

I've posted everything that happens to me at the concert below, so make sure to read it, if you ever want to.

So a day after the concert, I move out completely out of the dorm into my new one-room

And because it's the start of the semester holiday, I've been doing nothing besides watching movies, drama or I don't know, just open the TV to watch whatever they have.
I've just been lazying out myself in my new room.
Probably try to exercise like once a day if I'm too bored lazying around.

So I spend my Hari Raya without having any raya feeling at all
I didn't get to eat rendang or ketupat or those kind of things but thanks to my family, I received my raya package and I ate the serunding and well it says ketupat but the taste is more like nasi impit.

And I also get to eat the raya cookies made by my mom, so I'm really happy that I get to.
I do miss my mom's rendang though.
So I guess that's all.

On the way

Assalamualaikum...
And hello to everyone!

I am supposed to be updating this a few days ago but I've been so lazy to do so...
But here I am updating!

Ok on the first day of class (3rd June), I meet up with Dixxon, who kindly helped me in my process of making a korean simcard.
He's really kind to be helping me, showing me where the student cafeteria(?) is, and then helped me in ordering food as well, and finally waited for me until I finally completed the process of making a korean phone number.
I told him that it's ok for him to go back and not wait for me, but Dixxon keep on telling me that it's ok and I keep on saying sorry and thank you to him that if there's a robot that can says thank you and sorry, they can borrow my voice for it.
Cho Dixxon, really thank you so muchhh for helping me!! And congratulations and good luck for your study!!

So it's going to be the 3rd week since I start my class soon, and so far everything is fine.
In my class, there were 12 students but recently another student is added, so there are 13 students now.
I always thought that I'm really bad at games but out of the 3 games that we played, I think it's 3, I've won 2 games. The marks weren't recorded for the third game so I guess it doesn't really matter? hahaha
Anyway, the prize is always coffee but I don't drink coffee, so I ended up giving my coffee to my classmates.
And Joshua shared the macaroons he made with everyone at class too! wheee thank you!!

Last week, I went to the first fan sign ever in my life, which is Nine Muses fan sign in order to help my friend, actually it's a present for my friend, Bobo.
So I actually get to see how the fansites manages to get pictures of idols that look directly to their camera. It's not really that easy even if the idols recognizes the fansites masters and all because they need to scream a lot to get the idols' attention. So kudos to fansite masters!!

I have the sticky note on my wall to remind me on what I need to update but looking at it, it doesn't give me any idea on what I'm supposed to write at all...
Oh yeah, right now I have toothache, another wisdom tooth is growing I guess and it really hurts, not as bad as the one I had last time but it still hurts.
I'll be going to the hospital tomorrow to check on it, and if I ever remember everything, will try posting out about my experience there.

p/s: Ramadhan is getting near, and I'm quite nervous and anxious about it

A new journey

Assalamualaikum

I'm actually now in my off-campus dorm in Gwanak-gu, Seoul.
I arrived here in the morning of 27th of May and stayed at Itaewon with my family (mom, dad, younger brother) until 28th, the day I checked in at my off-campus dorm.

My departure from Malaysia was at 11PM and my sisters went to the airport with us to send me off.
We actually took a lot of pictures but now that I look at it, a lot of the pictures taken by my mom and dad are blury hahaha the children takes better pictures I guess :P

It was also the first time for me to use MAS as the I only use Air Asia before this, so I was a bit 'jakun' when I was on the plane, and the stewardess just smile at our weird questions on the plane. I sat with my brother, so most of the time I bother him and try to force him to watch 'I am a murderer' with me (but failed to do so), a korean thriller movie which doesn't have any subtitle yet on the internet, the more reason why I was so excited on the plane because I've been searching for the subtitles since forever.

When I arrived in Itaewon, we stayed at Hamilton Hotel, and Paris Baguette is next to the hotel, and there's KFC nearby as well, everything was easy there. So I brought my mom around, just sight-seeing even though we didn't get to go to a lot of places. Brought mom to Namsan Tower as well, which she wanted to go to but I couldn't accompany her that much because I was not feeling well that day, so my brother helped my mom more than I did.

So on the 28th, I finally check in at my dorm, at around 6:30pm.

So that's a 'tour' to how my room looks like.

On the 29th, I had a placement test at SNU KLEC
So I ride on the bus to the SNU with a friend the dorm lady introduced me to.
She's Li Lin, from China,
and when I arrived at the room to take the placement test, I was informed that they actually divided us according to where we came from and I think I'm the only Malaysian there.

Near me was a girl named Maria, from the US who actually studied in Singapore for a month I think and went to visit Malaysia as well, she went to Batu Caves too.
She asked me my opinion on the recent PRU and I was shocked to know that she knew about it and I shared to her about my view on it. She was my age, but I forgot to take pictures with her. Maybe next time.

I had an interview after the test and the teacher told me that I only got 60% for my level one, so I'm not qualified enough for level 2 but I just sits there silently, not really wanting to enter level 1.
So the teacher told me to buy a book and study on my own a little bit, just to understand some grammar and vocab since I told her which is the part that I couldn't understand, and she told me to go to level 2 starting next week since she also thinks that it's kind of a waste for me to go to level 1.
Alhamdulillah.

It's now 31st of May, so it's been 3 days since I've stayed at my dorm.
Last night I bought the instant rice you saw in the video, and ate it with kurma daging which I brought from Malaysia.
And today, I haven't eaten yet but I guess I either eat maggi or any instant food I brought like kari ayam or anything with the rice.
I also bought some chips at the convenience store.

It is halal, you can check the list of halal food here

Ok so that is all the update from me here.
InsyaAllah I will keep on updating weekly so that my parents won't be worried about me.

A new step

Assalamualaikum
I realized I haven't actually fulfilled my promise to my friend
I promised my friends that I'll update my blog about my preparation to Korea starting from D-10 but I haven't been doing so. Let's not use the "I'm busy card" here even though it was the case sometimes.
Truth to be told, I am not that good in updating my blog every week, what more every day. I don't see my blog as something I'm oblige to do. I don't have any obligation to it, so I tend to forget even the promises I made, even if those I promised to don't really care about it.

So now here I am updating about my preparation to go to Korea to study language there at Seoul National University and I only have 3 days left to do so.

My check list goes on like this:-

  • Tuition fees
  • Visa
  • Repair wifi card
  • New spectacles
  • Towels
  • Food
  • Clothes
  • Books
  • Pillow
  • Blanket
  • Bedsheet
  • Change debit card to international

So I might have forget the most important thing in the list, which is changing my debit card to international (I don't know whatever name it have if there is any), besides that I'm almost ready to go since I'll buy the pillow and blanket in Korea.

I am in actual truth is still very scared about going to Korea since I'll be going alone, without making any friends in advance in Malaysia, even though I have a few over there. I'm quite of a passive person, so I'm scared that my personality will eventually bring troubles to myself. I hope and pray that things will turn out well.

Bismillahirahmanirahim.
May Allah ease my journey there.

That's all the update from me.

Assalamualaikum.
